 Our recruitment and selection policy

Over the years we have developed a highly effective recruitment and selection process. All of our recruitment and selection processes fall In line with our Equal Opportunities Policy

We attract Teachers and Support Workers through various methods including:

  • National Advertising
  • Local Newspaper Advertising
  • Recruitment Fairs and Relationships with Universities and Colleagues
  • Exhibitions
  • Job Centres
  • Radio Advertising
  • Web Site and Internet
  • Overseas Offices

In striving to ensure that we are providing the highest standard of teachers and, in turn, ensure the protection of children our Selection Process comprises of the following:

  • Completion of comprehensive application form 
  • Requested CV 
  • CRB Clearance 
  • List 99 Clearance
  • Permission to Work, we check passports and visas to ensure all teachers are able to take up work in the UK.
  • Medical Questionnaire
  • Verification of qualifications, original certificates is required or certified copies. NARIC is used for overseas teachers where necessary
  • Proof of registration with the GTC 
  • Two professional work references, including one from the most recent employer who can verify teaching ability – References are followed up verbally for verification
  • All overseas must have a police check from their home country if they have not lived in the UK for 12 months or less.
  • Two passport photos, one is kept on the teacher’s file and the other on the ID Badge 
  • Proof of National Insurance Number
  • Two forms of ID i.e. Birth Certificate and Passport
  • Face-to-Face Interview
  • All Teachers sign Code of Practice
  • All teachers sign Terms and Conditions

Once we have received all of the above relevant information and are satisfied with the results of the references and check would we then consider the teacher for s suitable posting.

Recruitment of long term/permanent position’s we still aim to achieve all of the above criteria however we will submit details of teachers for posts with evidence for the following:

  • Updated CV
  • Permission To Work in UK
  • Verification Of Qualifications
  • One Professional Teaching Reference

All paperwork must be in place before commencement whether working through Teachers UK or direct with the school.

All the above is kept in hard copy format within the teacher’s individual file
